Our Story
About Moinho Real
A centennial mill carefully restored, beside the Anços River, in Redinha.
Origins
A Mill with History
Moinho Real is a centennial mill rooted in the history of Redinha, a small village in the heart of Portugal. Its existence dates back to time immemorial, when it was the epicentre of flour production from a variety of grains — rice, rye, barley, corn and wheat.
This traditional mill played a vital role in the community, providing essential staple food for many families in the region for generations.
Restoration
Restoration with Soul
The mill was carefully restored and converted into tourist accommodation, preserving its historical essence. The original milling system was maintained, using the canal that carries water from the Anços River to turn the millstone — today transformed into a unique natural pool.
The stone walls, wooden beams and centennial mechanisms coexist with modern comfort, creating a space where past and present meet in harmony.
